Wilmington Zoning Board of Appeals
Regular Monthly Meeting
August 19, 2009
Board members present: Alicia Armstrong,, Jim Carmelitano, Jerry Bottcher, Jean Baker, Bob Girardin, Tom Hinman and Herb Crispell.
Others present: Robert Guynup, Steve Corvelli and Jessica Mulvey.
CALL TO ORDER at 7:04 by Chairperson Alicia Armstrong.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
*Motion to approve July minutes presented by Bob Girardin, seconded by Jim Carmelitano; carried unanimously.
OLD BUSINESS-None
NEW BUSINESS-Jessica Mulvey
*Wishes to reopen a farm stand on Route 86.
*Will be buying articles from other people for sale.
*Would eventually like to have some temporary structures.
*Would be seasonal from May to December.
*Hours would be 10-5, Thursday – Sunday.
*The building on site is a permanent building.
*There is parking for 5 or 6 vehicles.
*The tent houses an on-going yard sale.
*Jerry Bottcher stated his favorable opinion of a project like this because of the lack of locally grown items for the restaurant industry.
*Public hearing date was set for September 16, 2009.
ANNOUNCEMENTS
*Land Use Code Revision meeting will be on September 25th at 9 a.m.
*Alicia gave update on the last meeting.
*Meetings are not open for discussion for anyone other than the committee but people can observe.
*Training by the NY Planning Federation on the 13th through the 15th in Lake Placid.
*Four hours of training are required by the zoning board members each year.
