Dog Control

Appointed yearly by the Town Board, the Dog Control Officer is a as needed position in Wilmington that is regulated by the New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets.

Dog Licenses

  • You may register your dog with the Town Clerk
  • In the town of Wilmington, dogs 4 months and older are required to be licensed and registered.
  • The fee’s for a dog license are as follows: $10.00 for Spayed/Neutered $20.00 for Unaltered.

If a Dog is Found

You may call the Dog control officer or contact the Wilmington Town Offices 518-946-7174.

You may also contact the North Country SPCA directly at 518-873-5000. The dog will be brought to the SPCA where it is checked for a microchip and held for five days while awaiting its owner.
