SUPERVISORS REPORT FOR WEEK ENDING 3/10/2023
This week’s report starts with a somber tone. It is that sadness one gets when
losing a loved one or friend. For Wilmington and our general area we have lost
quite a few souls over the last couple months. More than our fair share. Each one
of them that have passed away bring back memories of yesterday and happier
times. Our sincere condolences to all the families and friends that are grieving
right now. As a community, we share your pain and are here for you.
Speaking of community, the Wilmington EM Cooper Memorial Library will be
hosting an open house this Saturday March 11 th from 10 am to 1 pm. be sure to
stop by to see the impressive upgrades. A lot of work has gone into the
improvements by everyone associated with the library. Well done team!
Our own open house to showcase the improvements at the Wilmington Highway
Garage has been pushed back until April. Mother Nature has been keeping our
awesome Highway crew pretty busy. We look forward to residents checking out
the facility.
Last week I held a meeting with the Essex County Housing Assistance program
representatives in my office concerning the Wilmington Homestead Housing
program. We toured the town and discussed grants that this organization will be
applying for on our behalf for our housing challenges. This has been a very long
process. However, I hope for a ground breaking ceremony in the near future. As
always, I will try to keep everyone informed.
We are still accepting letters of interest from residents that wish to serve on the
Short Term Regulation and Cannabis committees. In addition, a vacancy still exists
on the Assessment Grievance Board. Please direct any letters to

ORDA has announced that the purchase of Season Passes at Whiteface has now
started for the 2023-2024 season. For more information, go to
https://whiteface.com/tickets-passes/season-passes/
We are now accepting applications for the 2023 Summer Season for Lifeguards at
the Town Beach. If interested, stop by the town offices for an application.
I would like to announce that we have “Business Packets” from the Essex County
Industrial Development Agency available to those that are interested in starting a
business in our community. The packet includes information on the various ways
the IDA can assist people with financing and business plans. As stated in the past,
I will work with anyone interested investing in our community. This offer is made
as both a Town Supervisor and a private citizen. I feel that strong about it.
The Next meeting of the Wilmington Town Board will be Tuesday March 14 th at 7
pm at the Community Center. As always, an Agenda will be made available and
the public is always welcomed.
Well friends, that’s all for this week. See you around town and take care.
