SUPERVISORS REPORT FOR WEEK ENDING 4-7-2023

Hello everyone! After taking last week off in sunny Clearwater Florida and being
rested, I feel rejuvenated as I hit the ground running on the various projects we
are currently working on. With around 8 months left on my term of office or 268
days, (but, who’s counting. LOL) I really want to leave office with a clear path of
the current and future projects associated with town government.

I want to extend a thank you to Pastor Grace Govenettio and the Church of the
Nazarene for the awesome basket left at the town offices. Not only did our crew
at the offices enjoy the fresh baked snacks, many visitors sampled the tasty treats
as well.

Don’t forget this Friday April 7 th from 4 pm to 6 pm the Easter Bunny will be on
hand giving out goody bags at the Wilmington Youth Center. This FREE event
sponsored by the Visitors Bureau and the Town Of Wilmington is for community
Youth. The function will also include an opportunity for youth to have their
picture taken with the floppy eared icon. Please stop by, this should be a lot of
fun.

With the spring weather, our Highway Superintendent Louie Adragna has issued a
temporary Weight Limit on Town Roads. This means that pursuant to section
1660 Vehicle and Traffic Law, vehicles 6 tons or over are not allowed on town
roads. Many times logging or other heavy construction trucks can do damage to
the road surface this time of year.

At the Essex County Board of Supervisors meeting on April 3 rd , I supported a
resolution asking the Public Service Commission to dismiss New York State Electric
and Gas rate increase request. NYSEG has requested an increase of 34.9 percent.
The resolution also contained language that urged the state to force NYSEG to
resolve their billing problems before any rate increase is considered.

This Saturday I have the honor representing the Town as a guest Judge at the
Whiteface Pond Skimming event. Pretty excited to see how this event works. For
the record, I will be a guest judge. Not a participant. {{{ha-ha}}}

Please remember that the Regular Monthly meeting of the Wilmington Town
Board will be help on Tuesday April 11 th . As always, the public is welcomed.

That’s all for this week my friends. See you around town. –Roy Holzer
