SUPERVISORS REPORT FOR WEEK ENDING 4/19/2024 Happy Friday! WILMINGTON COMMUNITY DINNER The annual community dinner this past Wednesday was marvelous. It was held at the Hungry Trout and organized by the Whiteface Visitor’s Bureau. The food was terrific and conversation, both during the cocktail hour and dinner, cheerful. Thanks again to the Visitor’s Bureau for a terrific event and to the Hungry Trout for the delicious fare. This was noted during the dinner, but annual dinners of this sort are important. SUPERVISORS REPORT FOR WEEK ENDING 4/12/2024 Hello Everyone! FOLLOW UP (AND FINAL) NOTES ON THE ECLIPSE Wilmington rises to the occasion, as it always does. Luckily, we were not inundated by hordes of cars. Heavy traffic was reported going down Fox Farm to Springfield as visitors left Whiteface. But I doubt it was at the volume of traffic I saw on a video from Keene Valley with a many miles long stream of cars headed east on Rte 73 towards the Northway. SUPERVISORS REPORT FOR WEEK ENDING 4/5/2024 Hello Everyone! Hope all is well and that everyone shouldered the snow well enough and is now braced for the Eclipse. Next week’s report will, I hope, be the last to cover the Eclipse (pun intended). April 8 th —What to Expect (?) Many have already heard blasted everywhere that if you don’t need to go anywhere on Monday, don’t—stay at home. Of course, no one knows how many visitors Wilmington will have. SUPERVISORS REPORT FOR WEEK ENDING 3/29/2024    Hey everyone--    Getting Ready for the Easter Bunny  The Easter Bunny will be visiting Wilmington tomorrow (Saturday, March 30, 2024) at the Wilmington Youth Center, Park Lane, Wilmington from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm.  There will be photographs and gift bags. SUPERVISORS REPORT FOR WEEK ENDING 3/22/2024  Hey everyone--  Apparently, the snow we ordered for December and January may finally make it here tonight. The temperature dip for the past few days took some adjustment, but when the sun is out, it feels better.  Getting Ready for the Eclipse  No one knows if the weather will cooperate to let us see the eclipse, but the word is that the rooms in Wilmington have been fully booked.
